FAQ
What Is the Lollipop Sensor?
Lollipop Sensor is an additional accessory that pairs with the Lollipop app, and it helps parents detect temperature, humidity, and air quality in your baby's room. If there is something unusual, the Lollipop app will notify you about the changes.
How to Connect the Sensor With the Lollipop App?
Follow the following steps to connect the sensor with our Lollipop app:
1. Click on the three dots in the upper right-hand corner, then click on Camera Settings.
2. Then, click “Sensor.”
3. Next, click the + Scan icon at the top of the page to add the sensor.
4. Then, you can name your sensor.
How to Set the Temperature & Humidity Range?
Any temperature received by the camera from the sensor outside of the safe range will generate an alarm through your app.
If you would like to change the temperature range, follow the steps below:
1. Go to the Lollipop app, tap on the three dots in the upper right-hand corner of your livestream video.
2. Then, tap on “Smart Detection."
3. Scroll down to see the “Sensor Detection” section and use the slider points to set the minimum and maximum temperature safe zone.
How Does the Sensor Detect the Air Quality?
The sensor we use for monitoring air quality is called “VOC sensor” (volatile organic compounds), which is used to detect the presence of acetone, heptane, and many other metabolic products in human breath. It also detects formaldehyde, cooking odors, human bio effluents, outdoor pollutants, paint and lacquers, cleaning supplies, and toxins. The mixed gases/VOCs are often released into a facility's air from building materials, furnishings, office equipment, and adhesive.
What our VOC sensor detects is not only what it feels in the air but also what it smells. So, when it shows that air quality is poor, this might be the result of many different factors. You can try verifying the reasons by determining if there is any smell of cooking or cleaning. If there is, then there should be no harm to a human’s health.
What Does the Sensor Use to Connect to the Camera?
The lollipop environmental sensor uses Bluetooth ONLY.
When the sensor blinks blue, it is looking for a connection to the camera using a Bluetooth radio link. The sensor usesBLE 4.1, and it needs to be within 3-4 meters from the camera in its line of sight. Alternatively, under perfect conditions, the sensor can be 10 meters away from the camera. Also, there should be no big metallic objects or appliances (cordless phones, radio toys, other baby monitors that use radio, an independent monitor receiver, etc.) that might generate strong interference with the connection.
Does the Sensor Add Any Timestamp to the Data?
The sensor itself does not save or add any time to the data. The time is added by the camera once it receives the data from the sensor. Then, the data is uploaded by the camera to the cloud, so the time uploaded is basically the time reported by the camera.
